Police arrest banker with 19 ATM cards in Lagos
Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Umar Manko, on Monday afternoon, paraded 19 suspects before newsmen.
Oludare Oladodoyen, member of staff of a new generation bank, was arrested with 19 automated teller machine (ATM) cards belonging to another new generation bank
The suspect was arrested at the Ogba Agege branch of one of the new generations banks while trying to make a withdrawal with one of the ATM cards.
The police commissioner stated that the sum of N652,000 was recovered from the suspect.
The suspect claimed to be a money lender. He allegedly said the ATM cards that were found on him were collected from the people he gave financial loans to stand as collateral.
Meanwhile, members of different gangs of car snatching syndicates were also arrested by the police in the state and 12 exotic cars were recovered from them.
Manko stated that eight out of the recovered vehicles were recovered from a mechanic workshop in Agidingbi area of Agege after diligent investigations.
The Nigerian Tribune gathered that the bubble on the activities of the armed robbers burst when a resident of Ajah area of the state reported that his car had been snatched by armed robbers.
The police also recovered two locally made single barrel guns, three single barrel locally–made short guns , one locally made single barrel pistol, 35 live cartridges, four mobile phones, four wrist watches, one Browney Pistol, with No. 57932 with nine rounds of live ammunition and one sack of substance suspected to be Indian hemp.
